The ABCD Festival is being hosted at Ribby Hall Village, in Wrea Green a picturesque location just 5 miles outside of Blackpool, which is in the North West of England, UK.
It is close to both Manchester and Liverpool International Airports and close to main line train stations at Preston.
If you are travelling in before the conference starts you may like to visit the North West of England. There is so much to see from the great cities of Liverpool, home of the Beatles and Manchester home of the new media city to the Lake District and a wide range of National Trust Country homes. All the of the ABCD Festival delegates will be living, eating and being a real community over the 5 days stay. The site hosts a variety of cottages which are all in close proximity and walking distance to the conference facility. You will stay in a beautiful fully equipped cottage which comprises typically 3 bedrooms 1 x double and 2 x 2 single beds, 2 bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen including washing machine, bathroom and all the modern facilities you would expect, some are bungalows and some have stairs.
We organise accommodation based on the needs and requirements of our guests and we match people together in cottages where ever possible, typically 4 or 5 people share a cottage. Many people do travel together, or know others and where possible we can put you together. For those who are travelling independently we will put you in a cottage with others where we feel you will have a connection and feel happy. Our mission is to help you feel as comfortable as possible and we put a lot of thought into this, so please let us know any special requirements you may have when you make your booking.
On site there are some lovely walks, a few fishing ponds and an amazing Spa and leisure facility. If you choose please do bring your swimming togs so you can enjoy the great facilities. We hope the weather will be kind, although we cant guarantee, we can have some beautiful sunny weather in June but always be prepared for the British showers!!
The conference will give you a totally unique experience in that we will be breaking bread together and sharing the delights of conversation over breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our unique style of conference hosting provides you with a hamper of locally sourced food, the opportunity to cook, share your food or be a guest and connect and spend quality time with others. Of course there will be many other amazing things going on but this truly is an experience to remember.
If you cant cook, have special dietary requirements or this feels a little scary please don’t worry, we have lots of people on hand to help and remember its all about finding the skills and gifts of all our community and helping each other out.
Just a little note – where ever you are travelling from we invite you to bring a spice or a little something to represent your home town. You can decorate your cottage if you like with those little homely reminders, so when you get visitors it feels like your inviting them into your home. We don’t want you to bring masses of things and incur extra costs in baggage, just something small and unique to you. If you would like to post things across to us we would be more than happy to receive them.
